We have always been keen to support local charities and events and in 2013 and 2014 James ran the London Marathon supporting both VICTA and AMMF as well as the Reading half marathon for Oxfam. VICTA is a children’s charity supporting families with blind and visually impaired children, and AMMF is a small cancer charity which helps fund research for this rare type of cancer.
Being a glutton for punishment, James managed to wangle a ballot place in the 2017 London Marathon. He then went onto raise a further £12,000 which was split equally between AMMF and Footsteps Foundation.
When we became James Gesner Estate Agents in 2015, we decided to support the Footsteps Foundation to help provide financial assistance to families in need of support, The charity enables children with Cerebral palsy and other neuromotor disorders to access the Footsteps therapy program, benefiting from specialist equipment whilst at home. Since 2015 we have run the annual JG golf day at Hadden Hill and to date we have raised over £95,000! In recognition of the amount of money we have raised, James has been given the honour of being a Footsteps Ambassador and this is something he is incredibly proud of.
