Hope And Help For First Time Buyers!

Date Published 28 October 2010

Would-be first time buyers in the South Oxfordshire area are being offered a lifeline to get onto the property ladder.

In these days of large deposit requirements and restricted mortgage lending, the lifeline is being offered by Catalyst Housing. Subject to meeting the scheme criteria, would-be first time buyers could be eligible for a helping hand of up to £50,000 loaned by this Government-backed scheme.

Applications for the scheme are open to anyone who lives or works in the South Oxfordshire District Council area, who would like to own their own home, but cannot afford to do so without help.

Commenting on the announcement about the scheme, Lesters Senior Partner, James Gesner said "We are delighted to see the return of Catalyst Housing to the local property market. Every day we hear from would-be first time buyers who struggle to raise the deposit required to buy their own home. Schemes such as this are an excellent way of achieving the goal of home ownership."

To find out whether you are eligible for the scheme, visit the Oxfordshire HomeBuy Show, hosted by Catalyst Housing, on Saturday 6th November 2010 at The Assembly Room, Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, Oxford OX1 1BX.

Lesters are not in any way associated with Catalyst Housing, or this scheme and do not have any further information aboutit. There will certainly be various Terms & Condirtions that apply. The nature and extent of these will obviously be made clear by Catalyst Housing when you apply. Like all things, the scheme may not be suitable for everyone, but equally it may just provide the help that some would-be buyers need.
